I am Frankie Merrill. I am a Milwaukee based illustrator graduating from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design.

In the pursuit of satisfying my own curiosity, I aspire to create science-focused non-fiction works. Stylistically, I am inspired both by technical detail and accuracy as well as graphic comics, and I believe there is a place for both when creating educational works.

I take a lot of pride in my craftsmanship and meticulous work ethic, preferring to work hands on with physical materials to make a majority of my illustrations. I am most drawn to gouache paint, and black ink pens, but I am always willing to experiment with new materials and composing techniques with each work I make.
